这位生活在北京的英国小伙,就是手冲咖啡的忠实粉丝之一。Daniel Rothwell,来自英国埃塞克斯,在北京已经生活了3年。就是在这里,他从一个绘画和音乐爱好者变身为手冲咖啡迷,并把三种体验意外地结合在了一起。
Daniel Rothwell, a British guy living in Beijing, who is one of the huge fans of hand-pour coffee. He comes from Essex and has been living in Beijing for 3 years, and it is in Beijing that he becomes a hand-pour lover from the drawing and music amateur andunexpectedly combined these three things into a great integrity
在经营咖啡馆的同时,Daniel将自己对于咖啡的理解与感触透过画笔,分享给更多人,并为中国儿童开设了特色音乐课程。或许正是因为这些,才让Daniel的咖啡如此与众不同。如今的Daniel一边继续冲泡并感受咖啡,一边用自己的方式把在中国生活的喜悦传递下去。他乐于让人们品尝咖啡后,在杯子上写下喝咖啡时的感受,或许只是一些只言片语,却能让所有人在这个偌大的城市里找到一种独特的共鸣。
When running the cafe, Daniel expresses his understanding toward coffee in the way of drawing and share it with more people, and started special music courses for Chinese children. It is because of all these he has done that makes his coffee so different. Now, he spreads his own joy of life at the same time of making coffee. He looks forward to people’s feeling after drinking his coffee, even a few words are enough to resonate through such a big city.
Daniel说:“北京是一个让人收获惊喜的地方,但如果让我在音乐、咖啡和绘画中选择一个,我想我是办不到的。”
Daniel said: “ Beijing is a place where we can gain surprise, but if I have to choose from music, coffee and drawing, I’m afraid I’ll let you down.”
手冲咖啡又称为过滤式咖啡,没有复杂的器材,只需一把细嘴壶、一张滤纸和一个滴滤杯,通过控制不同的水温、水流速、过滤时间等,对咖啡的口感和风味进行调整。在Daniel看来,手冲咖啡虽然看似简单,却蕴藏着无限的可能,甚至是同一个人每次冲泡出的味道也不尽相同。如何让不同品种和研磨程度的咖啡始终呈现出酸、甘、涩、醇的完美平衡,是需要冲泡者不断地尝试与摸索。这也正是这杯“手作”咖啡的真正乐趣所在。
Hand-pour coffee is also called drip coffee, whose equipment is really simple which only needs a sticky kettle, a piece of filter paper, and a filter cup. It tastes different when using different temperatures and speeds of water and filter of time.Daniel thinks that there are endless possibilities in this simple process, or even the same person cannot make the same flavor each time. And how to make it stay at a perfect balance point among sourness, sweetness, bitterness and pureness still needs a lot of trials and explorations, and this is where the real joy of hand-pour coffee lies.
